Jhalana Leopard Safari (02 Days; # 660)
The dry deciduous forest of Jhalana has, for centuries, been the hunting ground for the erstwhile royals of Jaipur. Atop a steep hill, stands the “Shikar Audhi”, a silent remnant of the days of the balance between hunting and enlightened local conservation. Tigers were present in Jhalana even
until the 1950s. Beset on all sides by the ever-growing city of Jaipur, Jhalana is now home to a thriving population of Leopards. In 2018, this forest was declared a Leopard Conservation Reserve. Today, Jhalana is unique in being a small 23 sq.km area in the heart of a major city that is able to boast the highest leopard population density of any wildlife reserve. Now let us share the day break up of the Safari with you…..
