Nanda Devi (East) Base Camp Trek - India (16 Days; # 284)
Nanda Devi, the “Goddess of Bliss”, is the second highest peak in India, and considered by some to be the most beautiful. However, in order to protect its fragile ecosystem, the peak has been closed to climbers and locals for almost 40 years. The closest one can get to admire this beautiful peak is the Nanda Devi East Base Camp, near Munsyari.
Join us on this expedition to lay eyes on this beautiful natural monument, and at the same time visit the nearby villages and experience and learn about the local way of life in this mountain region. The Uttarakhand Himalayas, where Nanda Devi is located, is also home to some amazing mammals, birds, and other animals, and this is a unique opportunity to watch and admire these amazing creatures in their natural habitat.
